Privacy Policy
How I handle your data
This policy explains what personal data I collect through lauracodes.com, why I collect it, and how I use it.
Last updated: 11 June 2026
What I collect
Only what you submit through the contact form: your name, email, and project details.
What I don't do
No advertising. I don't sell your data. I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used.
Your control
Email me any time to access, correct, or delete your information.
Who is responsible for this site
Laura Codes is the data controller for this website and the information submitted through the contact form.
If you have any questions about this policy or want to make a data request, contact laura@lauracodes.com.
What data I collect
When you use the contact form, I collect the information you choose to submit:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your project summary or message
I also receive limited technical information needed to operate the website and process the form, such as server logs and delivery metadata handled by my hosting provider.
Why I collect it
I use this information to review your enquiry, reply to you, and decide whether the project is a fit for my services.
I do not use contact form submissions for unrelated marketing, and I do not sell your personal data.
Lawful basis
For business enquiries, the lawful basis is usually taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interests in operating and responding to enquiries about my services.
How your data is processed
Contact form submissions are sent to my inbox at laura@lauracodes.com using the website form handler hosted on Hostinger.
The site is hosted by Hostinger, which may process personal data as part of website hosting, mail delivery, security, and logging.
Third-party services
This site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to help me understand how visitors use the site, for example, which pages are visited and how long people spend on them. The data collected is aggregated and anonymous to me; I do not use it to identify individual visitors. Google may process this data on servers outside the UK/EEA. You can learn more about how Google handles analytics data in Google's Privacy Policy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Fonts are self-hosted on this site and do not involve any third-party requests.
This site does not use advertising trackers.
How long I keep it
I keep contact enquiries only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage follow-up conversations, keep relevant business records, and deal with legal or administrative issues.
If an enquiry does not lead to work and there is no ongoing reason to retain it, I will aim to delete it within a reasonable period.
Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, or data portability.
To make a request, email laura@lauracodes.com.
Cookies
This site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and track page views. These cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) are stored on your device and typically expire after up to two years. Basic hosting or platform-level cookies may also be used where technically necessary.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect how the site works for you.
Changes to this policy
I may update this page from time to time if the site, form handling, hosting setup, or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page.
